Founded in 1990 in Mumbai by Vijay Kumar Fotedar, Innovative Vacuum Technology (IVT) emerged from a vision to provide advanced vacuum technology solutions to the Indian Subcontinent. As a first-generation entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in engineering R&D and business development, Mr. Fotedar laid the groundwork for a company that would pioneer vacuum web coating technologies in a rapidly liberalizing market.

In 2002, Mr. Fotedar's son, Vikram Fotedar, joined the business after earning a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
